The LED lighting system consists of a dimmer or controller, a dc led driver and a luminaire. In order to change the light method, we adjust the dimming knob or dimming panel, and the dimmer sends a dimming signal to the dimming led driver. The led driver triac dimming converts the signal into a current that power the LED. The magnitude of the current determines the brightness of the light.

We all know that waterproof dimming power supply currently use two  dimming methods, one is leading-edge dimming and the other is trailing-edge dimming. Leading-edge dimming has two flaws, which can cause interference pollution and noise from high-order harmonics of the power grid.

But the main advantage is the cost is  low, the power that can control the lamp is also very large, and the technology has been developed for a long time and is very mature. The other is trailing edge dimming. This dimming method adopts soft-start and soft-off, which can avoid grid interference and noise problems, and can extend the lifespan of the lamp.
