(2) High efficiency
Triac LED driver is an energy-saving product with high driving power efficiency. It is very important for the heat dissipation of the power node installed in the luminaire. The power supply has high efficiency, low power consumption, and less heat generated in the lamp, which reduces the temperature rise of the lamp. It is helpful to delay the light decay of LED.
(3) High power factor
The power factor is the requirement of the power grid on the load. Generally, electrical appliances below 70 watts have no mandatory indicators. Although a single low-power electricity consumption has a low power factor, it has little impact on the grid, but the amount of night lighting is large, and similar loads are too concentrated, which will cause serious pollution to the grid. It is said that for LED drive power supplies of 30 to 40 watts, there may be certain index requirements for power factor in the near future.
(4) Drive mode
A constant voltage led driver provides multiple constant current sources, and each constant current source individually supplies power to each LED. This combination is flexible, and the failure of one LED will not affect the work of other LEDs, but the cost will be slightly higher. The other is a direct constant current power supply drive mode, in which LEDs run in series or in parallel. Its advantage is that the cost is slightly lower, but the flexibility is very poor, and it must solve the problem of some LED failures without affecting the work of other LEDs. These two forms coexist for a period of time. The multi-channel constant current output power supply mode will be better in terms of cost and performance. Maybe it will be the mainstream direction in the future.
(5) Surge protection
The anti-surge ability of LED is relatively poor, especially the ability of anti-reverse voltage. It is also important to strengthen protection in this area. Some LED lights are installed outdoors, such as LED street lights. Due to the activation of the grid load and the induction of lightning strikes, various surges will intrude from the grid system, and some surges will damage the LED. The LED driving power supply must have the ability to suppress surge intrusion and protect the LED from damage.
