Triac dimming is a kind of physical dimming. Starting from AC phase 0, chopping input voltage, and no voltage input before thyristor conduction. They are able to switch high voltages and high levels of current and pass through both parts of the AC waveform, which makes triac circuit very suitable for various applications requiring power switch.
